Who is responsible

Haus des Schutzes: Darul Aman e.V., a registered non-profit association based in Magdeburg, Germany, is responsible for this website and the data described here.

Contact form and membership enquiries

When you submit the contact form on this site, the name, e-mail address, topic and message you provide are: (1) filed as an entry in a private, access-restricted repository used internally to track requests, and (2) sent by e-mail to the association's inbox (info@darul-aman.org) and, as a confirmation, back to you. These e-mails are sent via Resend, a transactional e-mail service acting on the association's behalf.

This data is used only to respond to your enquiry and is kept only as long as needed to do so.

Membership applications (Microsoft Forms)

Membership applications are handled through an embedded Microsoft Forms form. Information you enter there is collected and processed directly by Microsoft under its own privacy terms, not by this website. See Microsoft's privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com for details on how Microsoft handles that data.

Donations

Donations are made through PayPal or SumUp, both external payment providers. When you donate, you are taken to their own secure checkout pages. This website never sees, receives or stores your payment details (card numbers, PayPal login, etc.) — that data is handled entirely by PayPal and SumUp under their own privacy policies.

Anonymous website statistics

This site keeps basic, anonymous usage statistics — which pages are visited and how often, and whether certain buttons (such as "Donate" or "Member Portal") are clicked — so the association can understand how the site is used and keep improving the website and user experience.

This does not use cookies, browser storage, or any persistent identifier. To count visits without identifying anyone, the server briefly combines a visitor's IP address and browser type with the current date to create a one-way, irreversible value used only to avoid double-counting the same visit on the same day. This value changes every day and cannot be linked back to a person or traced across days. Because no personal data is stored and no tracking across sites or sessions takes place, this does not require cookie consent under the ePrivacy Directive or GDPR.

What we don't do

This website does not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or third-party marketing pixels. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

Hosting and technical logs

This site is hosted on Vercel. As with virtually any website, the hosting infrastructure keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and operational purposes, in line with Vercel's own privacy policy.

Other services used on this site

Prayer times are pulled from the public Mawaqit API (mawaqit.net) without involving any of your personal data. Content such as announcements and campaign figures is stored in a private GitHub repository used only for the association's own website management.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
